Woman and child abuse is on the rise in our society; due to our Hindu heritage woman in our society is treated as lesser human being than man, which is totally against Islamic teachings. I suggest, tougher laws should be made in the light of Qur’aan and Sunnah to protect woman from abuse arising from her parents, husband, in-laws and harassment by employer or tribal execution such as Kar-o-kari, Swarah and marriages with Qur’aan. Provide her free speedy legal assistance to restore her rights and dignity established by Islam.
